As an artist my interest is in conflict and contradiction, the absurdity of meaning coming from a meaningless place. I am not necessarily interested in trying to convey some particular message visually, because I don't pretend to know what it means to begin with. Instead, my work is exploring the subtlety of direct representations of the human condition. Celebrating death and its manifestations in life, because experiencing the sublime seems to come from the notions that are least understandable.
The sublime is not a formula and is outside of being confined to conventional wisdom, because of this I have made an increasingly conscious decision not to stifle my works growth. Embracing whatever medium an idea manifest itself in, as opposed to limiting the work to a medium I'm comfortable with. I believe by not having a style I am pushing for the language of my work and opening it to the greater historical context of art history.
